Luxury Safaris Botswana

Safaris in Botswana with Special Interest Holidays

The Botswana Climate

The Botswana Climate dictates what you will experience and see. Planning when to go depends upon what you wish to achieve. The dry season (winter) is May to November this period is when you will experience the least problems in travelling. This is also the high season and obviously the most expensive. June to August are the coolest months and then the temperature starts to rise again. The highest temperature you can expect in June is 25°C (77°F) whereas the hottest month is October where at midday it can reach 38°C (100°F). January and February are the wettest months.

The best time to go for game viewing is in the dry season when sightings are more diverse. In most areas of the Okavango Delta the later the better. For Botswana bird life December to March is the best but there can be problems in certain areas driving around. For safari water activities any time of the year is fine as long as it is not raining.
