Established in 1973 and recently renovated it is located on its own private and secure island 12km to the North of Maun. The main lodge area is set on the western bank of the Thamalakane River. It is just 15 minutes drive from the airport.
The lodge and cottages are surrounded by well maintained and quite exceptional gardens with water features. There are 12 thatched cottages and 4 thatched rooms. The rooms all have interconnecting doors so can accommodate families. There is also an excellent sprawling camp site set alongside the river.
There is an attractive all wood finished long bar with a dining room alongside. A full à la carte and snack menu give a considerable choice at very reasonable prices.
By the lodge is a small swimming pool. There is also a much larger pool towards the camp site. This swimming pool is quite outstanding in size for a safari lodge. The lodge owns a number of motor boats for excursions. These can be just day trips or overnight expeditions camping on an island. They own 11 horses for riding around the island. Mountain bikes are also available.
