Lagoon camp was completely rebuilt in 2011 and is quite outstanding. It is in the northern part of the Kwando concession on the Linyanti Swamps in the far north of Botswana. The camp is in a spectacular setting right alongside the Kwando river. Lagoon is a one hour flight from Maun into their own airstrip. The magnificent thatched lodge area comprises of a sitting area and bar, a very fine first storey library, a dining room, splash pool and a decking over the water all with views over the river and the flood plains beyond.
The tents are some of the finest you will find in Botswana. They are of wooden construction with high thatched roofs and canvas sides. The latter being the slim excuse to classify them as ‘tents’! The camp has nine tents of which only eight are usually used. You could easily entertain all the guests for drinks in your tent. A large sitting area with leather armchairs and a coffee table leads up to the bedroom, behind which is a very large dressing area. To the side is a large bathroom with a Victorian style bath orientated to give a spectacular view over the river.
