The Kwara concession is NG20 and is 1,750 km². It is very close to the Moremi game reserve and in the middle of the delta’s northern edge. There are two camps on the concession Little Kwara and the original Kwara. They are very close together and located to the south of the concession.
It is possible to get to Kwara by boat from some of the camps in the north of the Moremi game reserve. From Maun it is 30 minutes by air. The air strip is 10 minutes drive from the camp.
This open camp, which is one of our favourites, has just 5 luxury tents all en-suite with shower and bath. These are of a very high standard on raised platforms with verandas overlooking the lagoon. They have polished wood flooring and doors rather than canvas. The beds are enormous.
The lodge is delightful. There is ample comfortable seating including their trademark settees which you almost lie in rather than sit. The view over the bush towards the lagoon is spectacular and just sitting there or leaning on the bar many animals and birds can be seen (see Kwara).
