Horse Riding on Safari in Botswana

Horse riding is offered at a number of camps. It is a wonderful way to get around the bush in the most ecological way possible. When you are riding the game treats you as one unit and part of the wild life. You will be able to get close to the likes of antelopes and zebras. Also from this elevated position you have a much better view than walking or in a vehicle.

There are a variety of riding expeditions available. You can choose from a half or whole day up to a six day riding safari. In the bush, riders have to be very experienced and competent. As with walking, your guides will look out for any signs of predators but in the unlikely event of any danger you must be capable of making a rapid ‘exit stage right’ without falling off! In this situation your guide will be at the rear with his gun at the ready.

You will experience constantly changing terrain from bush to floodplains through forested areas and shallow streams. It is a very special experience.
